 Bios Rachel RosenbergExecutive Director, Safer Pest Control Project Rachel Rosenberg has served as Executive Director of SPCP since 2003. Ms. Rosenberg has over 21 years of experience in non-profit management, including a Master's degree from New York University in non profit administration, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. Her diverse work experience as a non-profit executive includes six years as the Director of Public Affairs at the School of Speech at Northwestern University. She was most recently the owner of Sunflower Lawncare, an organic lawncare company based in Chicago and studied ornamental horticulture at the College of DuPage.
Ruth KerzeeAssistant Director, Safer Pest Control Project Ruth Kerzee, Assistant Director, directs SPCP's School and Childcare integrated pest management programs. Ms. Kerzee has been responsible for SPCP’s work with Chicago Public Schools for the past 3 years and has trained more that 500 building engineers and other school staff on developing policy and protocol to reduce the reliance on pesticides for a safer and more effective pest management program. Ms. Kerzee earned a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She has over a decade of experience, including conducting research and training programs on health issues such as childhood lead poisoning and migrant farm-worker eye injuries at the Great Lakes Center for Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health at UIC.
Steve PincuspySenior Program Associate Steve Pincuspy is a Senior Program Associate with Safer Pest Control Project and leads its Yards & Parks and Municipal programs. In 2008 he developed a Natural Lawn Care workshop that has trained over 240 Midwest landscape professionals. Steve is also closely involved with creating pesticide reduction strategies for the City of Chicago and several neighboring municipalities. He previously worked as an environmental consultant and spent several growing seasons working as a landscaper in the Chicago area. Steve has a Bachelor’s in Geography from the University of Iowa, and a Master’s in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver.
